OUR

IMPACT

OUR

APPROACH

To fill the economic void created by the agrarian crisis and the lack of alternative employment opportunities in rural areas, SEEDS has been promoting Entrepreneurship in rural areas through Entrepreneurship Development Programmes (EDP) creating a 3 phased model with an objective  of enhancing the current incomes through available resources and shifting focus from a bare subsistence one to that which offers a respectable income through the farm and other allied sector livelihood opportunities that are viable and affordable for the rural populace.

Following a robust mechanism of selecting appropriate youth with entrepreneurial aspirations, we provide capacity building training, market and financial access facilitation, Handholding and Mentoring support for a reasonable period of time to ensure that the enterprise becomes sustainable.

PROGRAMMES & PROJECTS

The Rural Economy primarily relies on Farm activities supplemented by Non Farm activities. Livelihoods of people living in rural areas are innately linked to ‘Land’ supplemented by other activities for additional incomes. While Land based livelihoods form the crux of rural economy, it is also important to complement it with the expanding list of ‘Essential Services’ in rural areas

A judicious mix of ‘Farm and Non Farm’ incomes is the need of the hour more so considering the risk involved in farming posed by weather, pest and diseases, fluctuating prices etc., A pool of school educated, smart, entrepreneurial and technology exposed youth exist in villages who are aspirational and are looking beyond sustenance offers further opportunities for new income generating activities which may include Integrated farming, dairying, establishing micro enterprises and skilling in niche areas

Our ongoing Entrepreneurship Development Programmes in rural areas in Farm, Off Farm and Non Farm segments include

● Farmpreneurship with emphasis on Off Farm activities

● Dairy Entrepreneurship for aspirational rural youth

● Homestead Agriculture for women in rural areas

● Developing Women Micro Enterprises in Rural areas

“From being an employee to an entrepreneur has been an incredible journey. Never did I think I would come this far with such minimal resources at hand. SEEDS has changed it all!”
